Lighting from the start
When lighting is left until the end, a room often ends up with a single central fitting and sockets wherever they happened to fit. Planned together with the layout, the light follows how the space is used: the reading chair, the kitchen worktop and the position of each switch are thought through in advance.
Changing these decisions at the design stage is considerably easier and less costly than during construction.

Switches and sockets
The plates, colour and mounting height of switches and sockets are chosen with the design, so they suit the finishes and the furniture. They are agreed with the electrician before the walls are finished.
