Smart home at the design stage
A smart-home system is best planned before the electrical and finishing works are complete. At that stage the control points, power supply and cabling can be placed where they are needed, without opening up finished walls.
Smart-home planning is therefore treated as part of the lighting and electrical design rather than a separate purchase: control points are marked on the same drawings, at the same stage.
What this covers
Control points and scenes laid out on the plan, coordinated with the lighting and electrical layouts and with the climate and ventilation provision, plus selection and sourcing of the devices themselves. Installation and commissioning are coordinated with the electrician and the relevant trades.
