Tokyo with Upholstered Seat is a solid-wood dining chair by Bensen that brings together Danish and Japanese design traditions. A continuous ribbon of shaped wood forms its curved backrest, which runs forward into the armrests and is joined to the legs with traditional mortise-and-tenon joints. The lightly padded seat is fitted over a multi-layered base and upholstered in Bensen fabric or leather; the exact material and colour are chosen with each order. The frame comes in solid oak, walnut, ash or black-stained ash (Black Ash), finished with a low-build, water-based polyurethane lacquer that leaves the open grain of the wood visible and smooth to the touch; a red-lacquered frame is also available.

Care
Wood frame: wipe with a soft cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water and a mild, solvent-free detergent, then dry it; wipe up spills straight away. Do not use furniture polish, sheen agents, oil or wax, and keep the chair away from radiators, direct sunlight and sudden changes in temperature and humidity. Fabric seat: for cleaning beyond light care, use a professional upholstery cleaning service. Leather seat: vacuum with a soft brush, dampen water-soluble marks and dry them with a paper towel, and use only water-based leather care products — never solvents; for stains that will not come out, ask a professional upholstery cleaner.
