Ascense Hand-Knotted Wool Rug
Ascense is a hand-knotted rug from GAN EDITION, the premium line of the Spanish rug maker GAN (Gandia Blasco Group), designed by the Valencian studio Arnau Reyna. Shifted bands of colour fade into one another like ramps rising side by side; the gradients are inspired by the landscapes of Nepal, and each rug combines more than 250 yarn shades. It is knotted by hand in Nepal from 100% New Zealand wool, with 155,000 knots per m², a pile about 9 mm high and a weight of about 3.7 kg/m². For indoor use. Two colourways — Terra (earth tones) and Aqua (blues) — and two sizes: 200 × 320 cm and an 80 × 310 cm runner. Each rug is made by hand: its size may vary by 5–10% and its colours may differ slightly from the photographs. Made to order; delivery takes 90–120 days.

Care
Vacuum regularly without a rotating brush; a new wool rug sheds fibre during the first months. Turn the rug 2–3 times a year so it wears evenly, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight. Never pull a loose thread: cut it level with the pile. Do not wet the rug, as some colours may run. Treat stains at once, blotting from the edge inwards; for a deep clean, use a specialist rug cleaner. Store it rolled, clean and dry.
